This adorable book tells about the fears of Little Hoo, a young owl, who is getting ready to go to the beach. He has many fears and they are all illustrated with large, fun, colourful images. Is he afraid of sharks, crabs, large waves or other things. All he has to do is hold onto his parent's hands and they will keep him safe.
This is a fun story for little ones with a happy ending. Little Hoo goes to the beach and has fun building sandcastles with his friends. The illustrations are cute and go very well with the story. Little Hoo is cute and I think kids will identify with him. My grandson enjoyed talking about the illustrations and comparing what he saw in them to what he sees on the beach when he visits his Nona's cottage. A great addition to a family library or a kindergarten/pre-school classroom. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book via Netgalley.

I received this arc from Netgalley for an honest review. This is another great Little Hoo book perfect for little ones who might be scared of the beach. Little Hoo is scared of the beach. There is so much to be scared about with the water and the sharks and all the other sea creatures. It's okay Little Hoo, there are lots to see at the beach.
~Disclaimer~ I received this book for free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. What is he afraid of waves? Sharks? Kelp? Crabs? All of these fears are put to rest with fun and colourful illustrations. I loved this book. It was fun, bright and colourful. This is the perfect book to read in preparation for a beach day. It will introduce your child to things that can be found at the beach. At the same time letting them know not to be frightened by them. I recommend this book for the summer.
Darling illustrations. A fun, quaint read about an Owl at the beach. Although the owl is anxious about the new and sometimes frightening things he encounters on his trip to the beach, he realizes that sometimes these fears and anxieties can be overcome and enjoyed. Perfect for very young readers.
I feel like I could relate to this book because I was always afraid of the beach and the ocean growing up, but this book is a cute way to show kids there truly is nothing to be afraid of.
Very simple introduction to a visit to the beach, addressing common fears children might have. I'm not a huge fan of the very simple, blocky digital illustrations.
This book is great for little kids that are a little apprehensive about trying new things. It explains all the new things you will find on your first beach trip and even to stay away from some while others are fun to explore. I recommend this to any little kids that are going to go to the beach, have been to the beach, want to learn more about the beach or just want to read a nice story about Little Hoo as it explores the world.
This beach themed entry in the Little Hoo series is the perfect way to allay a toddler's fears and prepare them for a day at the beach. As always, the illustrations are vibrant and cheerful. The length and complexity of the narrative are perfect for toddlers, who will certainly want to read this story again and again.
