Dear Raising A Reader Network,

It’s July! A time for enjoying summer activities as well as a time for planning for the program year ahead. With the COVID pandemic affecting the operating status of our schools and programs, implementing Raising A Reader may look different than in years past. Over the past several weeks, Raising A Reader has developed and shared our recovery plan that includes the development of resources to support program implementation as well as innovations and modifications to the model. We are pleased to share these resources with you below:

  1. Raising A Reader Replacement Sets Now Available! Many Affiliates have experienced a loss of materials due to COVID closures, including Red Book Bags, tags and books. To help Affiliates replenish lost or damaged materials, Raising A Reader has created Replacement Sets designed to get your RAR program ready for rotation. These Replacement Foundation and Supplemental Building Block Sets contain Red Book Bags w/ tags and board or Kapco-covered books (depending on age). The complete selection of Replacement Foundation Sets and Supplemental Building Blocks can be found on our website.

  2. DEADLINE EXTENDED! Due to high demand, Raising A Reader’s Super Summer Book Bags are now available for purchase until July 17! Aligned with school readiness standards and designed to support summer learning loss, the Super Summer Book Bags contain tools and activities for 6 weeks of summer learning fun. Act now! Limited quantities available!

  3. Join us for our weekly Town Hall on Friday, July 10, as Raising A Reader continues to discuss the COVID Recovery Plan, including ideas and modifications for program implementation. Register here.

Kindest regards,

The Raising A Reader team
