It’s July! A time for enjoying summer activities as well as a time for planning for the program year ahead. With the COVID pandemic affecting the operating status of our schools and programs, implementing Raising A Reader may look different than in years past. Over the past several weeks, Raising A Reader has developed and shared our recovery plan that includes the development of resources to support program implementation as well as innovations and modifications to the model. We are pleased to share these resources with you below:
- Raising A Reader Replacement Sets Now Available! Many Affiliates have experienced a loss of materials due to COVID closures, including Red Book Bags, tags and books. To help Affiliates replenish lost or damaged materials, Raising A Reader has created Replacement Sets designed to get your RAR program ready for rotation. These Replacement Foundation and Supplemental Building Block Sets contain Red Book Bags w/ tags and board or Kapco-covered books (depending on age). Weekly Super Summer Town Hall Meetings
This is a forum for RAR and Affiliates to share resources, ask questions and network. Raising A Reader will also provide information from partners such as Khan Academy Kids, Ready4K, Springboard Collaborative, Common Sense Media and others during this forum. Meetings take place on Fridays at 11 AM PDT/2 PM EDT.
