Dear Raising A Reader Network,
Thanksgiving may look a little different this year. We may not have the same family gathering or enjoy all the traditions we normally embrace, however, there is still much to be grateful for. At Raising A Reader, we reflect on a year of changes with gratitude for the opportunity to remain connected to our Affiliate network. We have worked side-by-side to collectively find meaningful ways to serve families and our communities despite the challenges. We are thankful for every one of you!
As Covid concerns are on the rise, we are reposting information from the REALM project. This site synthesizes various studies and data; however, the scientific understanding regarding COVID-19 is continuously evolving. This material is being provided for informational purposes only, and readers are encouraged to review federal, state, tribal, territorial, and local guidance.
Last Friday’s Town Hall featured guest speakers from SRI International. They shared project updates on SMARTalk, an exciting tool designed to support parent-child conversation. They are recruiting families to help with the research and development. See the slides and video for more information. Register here for the Town Hall meetings through December.
If the Thanksgiving holiday finds you doing some online shopping, we invite you to support RAR by using the Amazon Smile portal to donate a percentage of your purchases to RAR. You can also invite friends and family to support us on Giving Tuesday, December 1, by donating on our website.
Warm wishes for a Thanksgiving like no other.
Kindest regards,
The Raising A Reader team
