DonorsChoose.org – This is a crowd-sourcing website specifically for teachers and classrooms to raise money for projects, particularly the RAR program and materials. 

April 15 - Penguin Random House – Literacy Award for Innovation for Public Libraries.

April 30 and Nov 1 – The Lawrence Foundation

Singing for A Cause – a foundation started by Jimmy Buffett that funds community-based programs that are addressing the root cause of societal problems. Grants grant from $1,000 to $10,000. deadline for Letter of Interest is March 15.

Dollar General Literacy Grant “Beyond Word” – special grant to help school libraries that incurred substantial hardship or damage from natural disaster. $10,000 to $20,000 available. 

Dollar General Youth Literacy Grant – grant for schools and nonprofit organizations to help students who are at below grade-level reading or who are struggling. Grant award is up to $4,000.

Brown Rudnick Center – Feb 22: Relationship Grants. Letter of Inquiry due for nonprofit organizations. Rolling: Community Grants: grant available up to $2,000 to fund small one-time project.  Front-line educational worker must apply.

Express Scripts - Deadline to apply is May 31 (offered 4x per year). Grants range from $500 to $200,000

Halliburton grants  made to schools. Decisions are made once per quarter.
